Monuments, Mayflowers, and Mansions.

After visiting Plimoth Plantation we went to see the National Monument to the Forefathers.
It was really neat to see the many Biblical references and concepts that are incorporated into its design.
Fun Fact - It is the largest solid granite statue in the US.

After visiting the Monument we drove into Plymouth and saw more
of the memorials honoring the Pilgrims.

We also went aboard the Mayflower 2, a full-sized reproduction of the original Mayflower.

On the way back to the Love's house we swung by Newport, RI and drove by some of the mansions.

Here are a couple shots that I managed to get from the road.

The Breakers

We had a great time in Plymouth and the surrounding area and hope to visit again sometime in the future.

As I write this, we are driving through New York City en route to Philadelphia, where we plan to see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and several other places.

Stay tuned!
