The Christmas Tree!

Today we went out and cut down our Christmas tree!
We tried a new tree farm, since the selection at the one we
usually patronize was getting kind of sparse :)

"No, that one!!!"

Cutting down the tree...

Everyone take a turn...

The "home-grown beasts of burden" dragging the tree up...

The finished result!

Hope you all have a very merry time preparing for the CHRISTmas season!

Happy Thanksgiving!

As we celebrate God's many blessings that have been bestowed upon us,
let us meditate on this chapter from Psalms that the Pilgrims held dear:

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

to many more memories to come!

After a Celebration Ceremony, there was a dessert fellowship which provided
many opportunities for talking and more pictures!!!

We were very happy to meet many dedicated Mieczkowski Musings blog readers
and followers at the Bible Bee!!! It was great to meet/greet you all!!!

Give us a shout in the comments and tell us what your Bible Bee experience was like!

Try to imagine a convention center filled with a couple thousand
Bible Bee'ers and their families!!! What fun!!!

We were very glad that both sets of grandparents could come
down to the Bible Bee! We had a wonderful time!

This year's Bible Bee has been the best one yet, and we are very grateful to

2011 National Bible Bee Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony just finished up, and we are rejoicing with
those who qualified as Semi-Finalists in the 2011 National Bible Bee!!

The main hall where the final rounds are held

-the crowd-

Actor Kirk Cameron (best known for his memorable roles in ABC's Growing Pains,
the Left Behind series, and most recently, the inspirational movie Fireproof)
was on hand to express his gratefulness for the Bible Bee,
and to encourage us in the faith.

The announcement of the Semi-Finalists came at the end of the night.
We are very excited that our good friend Nathan Alessio is moving on to semi-finals!!!

We are so proud of all the work the girls put into the Bible Bee this year,
and trust that the verses learned will be of good use to them throughout their lives.

The day is almost over...

...except for the most exciting part!
Tonight the semi-finalists will be announced at the Opening Ceremony!
Hopefully there will be good news to pass along to y'all!!

A few pics from the day:
