In the upper right-hand corner, there is a drop-down

The last of winter......

Here is a couple of winter pics I took recently:

"Out of the south comes the storm,
And out of the north the cold.
From the breath of God ice is made,
And the expanse of the waters is frozen."
Job 37:9-10

Icy shapes

I was clearing off my car this morning, and was amazed
at what melting snow could form!
Check out these pics:

The ice had formed a sheet, with space behind!

Grace's Senior Recital

On Tuesday, Grace had her senior recital!

It was a great success!

About 200 friends and family attended!

Grace played a lovely piano concerto (see below!)

The String Octet did an exciting number (see below)

Grace and three of her four teachers, past and present.

A nice touch at the reception -
old copies of music on the serving table!

Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright.
Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
make melody to Him with the harp of ten strings!
Sing to Him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
For the work of the Lord is upright,
and all His work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

Psalm 33:1-5

Spring Birthday Party!

When you are in a family of 12, you celebrate birthdays by quarters!

Last week we celebrated Rebecca's 4th, Joseph's 15th, and Grace's 18th birthdays!

Here are a couple of pics:

"I hope you like this scarf I made you!"

"I thank my God always concerning you for the grace
of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,
that in everything you were enriched in Him,
in all speech and all knowledge."
1 Corinthians 1:4-5

Melody's cello recital...

Yesterday was Melody's cello recital!

Here was a cute girl playing violin - we all started this way!

Melody did a wonderful job!

-All the students...

The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him.
Psalm 28:7

Some "real" pictures from the Family Economics Conference

Over on Jonathan Hedrick's blog some "official" pictures taken
by one of the "official" photographers have been posted!

Near the end of the "Day 2" post, there is a shot of
us guys in one of the sessions.

There are a lot of really cute pictures in here as well!
Why?
Because families of 10 are the norm in this crowd!
The more subject material the better! What a great situation to be in!

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul on consumer choice

I love this guy!

He is so down-to-earth and practical about all the issues
being discussed in Washington, D.C.

This vid is really funny!
Watch the whole thing, it's not that long.
Pay attention to the lobbyist's face at 4:50!

Enjoy!

Another exciting Day in Lansing!

There were many new and interesting events that went on for me today!

For lunch I went to a fundraiser for our local representative
that my family had campaigned for last fall.

The now Rep. Andrea LaFontaine!

-Men in Black-

Today I was working on a presentation for the senator to
present at a Tea Party meeting this week, and a friend stopped
by to hang out, but ended up helping me with some
un-cooperative PowerPoint charts and graphs!

"Let's try this, and this, and this!"

"That's better!"

Another day in Lansing, more fun events and adventures!
It truly is a blessing to be able to have this great experience!

(Thanks to photographer Kendall Wingrove for the great photo record!)

Grace's Birthday!

Today is Grace's 18th birthday!

We happened to have an octet practice today as well,
so we celebrated with cake and ice cream!

We are grateful to the Lord for the blessing Grace is to
our family and to all who know her!

Also, we wanted to invite you to Grace's senior recital!
The date is Tuesday, March 22, at 7:00 PM.
It will be held in the First Baptist Church of Troy auditorium.

Grace will be performing a number of sacred and classical pieces,
on both violin and piano.

Hope to see you there!

Family Economics Conference

Dad, Joseph, Caleb and I had the opportunity this past weekend to go to a
family conference put on by Generations with Vision in North Carolina.

While we were down there, we visited our good friend Joe Alessio
who is doing an internship in that corner of the country.

The conference was wonderful!

-Scott Brown-

A funny slide.....

Lots of wonderful speakers

Enjoying the 65-degree weather

A rare sight for us this time of year....... flowers!

Star sightings.....
Click here if you don't get it! (homeschool inside joke...)

Some tired guys.....

Love that sign!

We had a great time, learned great new things and heard some
new ideas about biblical economics, and how to implement those
principles into our family's life!
