Recent events in Lansing

Even though I haven't necessarily been posting here on the blog very regularly, I have
been making my weekly trek over to Lansing pretty consistently!

Here are some highlights from the past few months:

In February, I volunteered for the Michigan Political Leadership Program's
annual fundraising breakfast in Grand Rapids.

The featured speakers were former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer (left)

This is the group of CBC "regulars" - guys who currently work down at the Capitol.

Sarah D. stopped by a couple of weeks ago
to check out Lansing and watch session.

Here the group is with Michigan Attorney General Bill Schutte.

The Senator I intern for, Mike Green, is an enthusiastic proponent of gun rights.
He has introduced some changes to Michigan's Concealed Pistol licensing
process over the last couple of weeks.

I have helped with researching different states' laws and compiling data for
the Senator's proposed legislation, so I am definitely paying attention to the discussion!

For those of you who are interested, here is my boss, Senator Mike Green, discussing
his proposed changes to Michigan's Concealed Pistol Law:

So, that's my little Lansing update!

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
1 Timothy 2:1-4
