Moving Week Post #3

Well, the big day has finally arrived!

The last of the stuff...

Last glimpses of our former home..

Moving the last (of 3!) pianos into the house

Anyone want to start a car rental business?

Another group of 25+ people showed up to help unload!

Even a big kitchen can get crowded!!

The cutest one on the moving crew!

Our first party at the new house!

Scott and Caleb working in the boys' room

The furniture organizers

Getting the appliances in place...

"Where should we start?"

Trying to bring the grass into submission :)

Our first family meal at the new house!

We are SO thankful to everyone who helped us with this mammoth task!
God has been very gracious every step of the way. His way is best!
We are looking forward to how the Lord will use our new home to be a blessing to many.

Moving Week Post #2

Friday of our moving week was spent loading trucks, trailers, and vehicles.
We were blessed to have a group of 30 or so people
help us transport another sizable chunk of our stuff to the new house!

The lineup

"Box 'em up! Quick!"

Shrink-wrapping everything in sight...

"Are we done yet?"

The kitchen crew

One big empty truck

All loaded and ready to roll!

What a moving musical sight!

It's getting fuller...

That's the cutest truck driver I've seen in a while!

Caleb will really miss our neighbor Aiden :(

All packed and ready to "Move 'em Out!"

The big day is just around the corner.....
Stay tuned for the third and final installment in the trilogy of
Mieczkowski Moving Mania!!!

Moving week post #1

We were blessed to have much help during our entire move!
It is amazing how God brought just the right people at just the right time!

From the old...

To the new...

Moving one of three pianos

At least we had a ramp down to the basement :)

A clever way to take a load up

A girl and her boxes...

On Thursday night of our moving week, we had several dear homeschool families
come over and help us box stuff up and stage furniture in the garage:

Mrs. Bambrick and the girls

Rebecca and Lydia

Joe came dressed for the occasion!

Emily made us some home-made bread in-between boxes!

Gotta keep the workers happy:)

Packing up the kitchen

-Partners in china-

"All that work tired me out!"

More to come in the next post!

Moving week....

We are very excited about our coming move!

We will be kicking the moving efforts into high gear during this week,
with the "official" moving day this Saturday, the 14th.

"Boxes, anyone?"

We will be very busy, so probably won't have time to post this week,
but will definitely have some great pics and such of
Mieczkowski Moving Mania in the weeks ahead!!!

Easter 2012

We had a wonderful time celebrating our Lord's Resurrection today!
One of our Romanian traditions is having an egg-breaking contest with hard boiled eggs.

Danielle making the rounds

And the winner is....

Danielle! And her egg!

Brother and Sister

"What a lot of Easter baskets! (13 total!)

Daughter and Mother!

"The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.' "
Matthew 28:5-6a

Have a blessed Easter!

Something's here.....

Ok, you've been dying with anticipation haven't you?!

We are moving!!!

After putting our house up for sale in August of 2011
 (following 5 months of remodeling),
the Lord has brought us an offer that we have accepted!

Our home

It's also kinda' hard to move without a new home to move into!

We had known about an interesting house for a couple of months,
but there were several previous accepted offers and such,
so we thought God was directing us elsewhere.

Mom happened to see that it had come back on the market about 2 months ago.
We went out the next day, loved it and were amazed
at how it fit our unique needs. After praying about it
we put in an offer the following day, which was accepted!

"I love this house!!!"

Our new home meets our needs so well,
with plenty of space for our family and for hospitality!

And no, we kids will not all have our own individual bedrooms!
(even though there's plenty of space for that -
the basement used to be an assisted living center!)
Everyone asks!

We much prefer being together!

-The back of the house - we will have lots of window-washing experience-
With a large forest on the property, we are grateful that our home will be able
to be heated with wood next winter.

God has been so good - we are amazed at how He has
orchestrated all of the events to bring us to the next stage
of this adventure He has for our family.

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain."
Psalm 127:1a
