Caleb's first bird...

Caleb shot his first turkey today!

He stalked the flock around the backyard, but ended up taking this hen
from his bedroom window (which is actually 3 stories off the ground!)

"It's almost as big as me!"

We'll let you know how it tastes after lunch tomorrow!

Catch-up post

Ok, so this is our catch-up post that will cover the random events
over the last 2 months or so that are worthy of mention, but we just
don't have the time or space for a complete post.

Our cousin Lexie had her first birthday party!

We have been seeing plenty of deer around!
This one was about 35 yards off the back of our house.

Caleb is our groundskeeper - he just acquired this lawn-sweeper

The boys also bought a quad recently...

and have been fixing it up!
Here, Joseph was working on a head cover gasket.

We had some good friends over, and they brought their REAL quads along!

Yes, the girls do drive the quads - it wasn't just for the pic!

Off to the trails!

Frisbee - an activity that must be incorporated into all other activities!

Our family has been busily preserving produce for the coming year...

...such as peaches, blueberries, tomatoes, carrots, etc.
Here are a couple pics of the processes:

And after!

Blueberry picking with little friends!

Someone looks sick of peeling carrots! Wait, she's turning orange!

Our latest project is putting a second kitchen in our finished basement.
A friend from church gave us all their old kitchen cabinets, so
we are looking to expand the possibilities our home offers
when it comes to hospitality!

No more space for the mini-van!

The boys got to drive in the Berkley Parade! (day before the Dream Cruise)

Jon and Danielle (rollover)

One Sunday after church, Jon was driving over to our grandparents' house,
and saw this nice couch sitting out on the curb.

So, being the garbage-picking nuts that we are, we pulled over, staked it out,
flagged Mom down, grabbed it, and tossed it in the van (it didn't fit)
and continued on our way....

Check out Caleb's little vid below:

The couch was in a holding pattern in Grandpa's garage
until we could bring a pickup truck.

Well, that's been the quick overview of what's been going on!

"This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope...
his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

Visit with the Palazzolos

Our dear friends the Palazzolos came up to visit after a flurry of string camps!

Yep, with 21 people for meals, there are a lot of cups!

Putting the basement to good use...

A gaggle of girls

Tons of frisbee as usual...

Admiring Olivia's pancake-batter-pouring strategy...

"Wait, these are MY cookies!"

The girls went on a shopping expedition - to the Salvation Army!

Why DAHling!

"What time is it?"

They also had a little tea party and enjoyed discussing biblical femininity
while the guys had tacos and considered biblical manhood.

- The Guys-

Lots of people = lots of shoes!
