Lord of All

Here is a song our Uncle Gordon wrote a while back:

It describes Jesus as being Lord over everything in our lives.

Sarmale!

Every year, our family on Mom's side gets together and makes Sarmale,
a traditional Romanian dish. (Basically it's stuffed cabbage)

We took a little bit of video this year, so check it out below:

Hard to believe that it's been almost a year since our last Guess Who? Challenge!

Here's the May, 2012 Edition:

Leave a comment with your guess of who is in the picture, and the answer
will be revealed a week after the original post.

Which Mieczkowski is this strange-looking person?

This picture is of LYDIA, at about one year old!

A Baseball Game...

A couple of weeks ago, we boys and Grace went to a Detroit Tigers game!
The Alessio guys came along with us as well.

The traditional picture in front of Comerica Park

"We're just 2 faces in a crowd!"

We also had the opportunity to attend Home Plate 2012,
an event where Tigers' players, past and present, share their faith.

There were probably about 8,000 people in attendance

Home Plate started at 9:30 in the morning - we were all freezing!!!
It was 40 degrees when it started!

Josh Hamilton and David Murphy of the Texas Rangers shared as well.

Fortunately, it warmed up a bit at gametime....

Even thought the Tigers lost, (it was the blowout game when Texas scored 8 runs in the first)
we had a wonderful time, and are looking forward to next year!

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

I had a mother that read to me.
Saga of pirates who scoured the sea,
Cutlasses clenched in their yellow teeth,
“Blackbirds” stowed in the hold beneath.

I had a Mother who read my lays.
Of ancient and gallant and golden days;
Stories of Marmion and Ivanhoe,
Which every boy has a right to know.

I had a Mother who read me tales.
Of Gelert the hound of the hills of Wales,
True to his trust till his tragic death,
Faithfulness blent with his final breath.

I had a Mother who read me the things.
That wholesome life to the boy heart brings.
Stories that stir with an upward touch,
Oh, that each mother of boys were such!

You may have tangible wealth untold;
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be—
I had a Mother who read to me.

The first official "party" at the new house!

Last Sunday, we had a church-wide gathering in homes following the afternoon service.
There were 40 people at our house for a time of fun and fellowship.

Who do you think will win this battle?!?

Please pass the mustard!

Food, food, food!

The tallest and the shortest :)

We had a wonderful time of testimony and singing together
before heading back outside.
Thanks to everyone who was able to come!

"So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially
to those who are of the household of the faith."
Galatians 6:10
