Sforzando String Camp 2013

Last week, our family had the privilege of attending
Sforzando String Camp in Downers Grove, Illinois!

The camp is hosted by Marquette Manor Baptist Church

Practicing in the car? "My ears hurt!"

Rebecca was in the Pre-Twinkle class!

Julia was in the Twinkle class

There was a mis-match day on Thursday, so Caleb and a friend posed for a pic :)

There were several master classes with some accomplished musicians

Mary was first cello in the Beginner Orchestra

Throughout the week, we had great fellowship with other families at the camp!

Anna and a fellow harpist!

Julia and Benjamin

Gotta have some ice cream for a break once in a while :)

All ready for the concert!

Grace, Melody, and Anna played with a group
that performed the Mendelssohn Octet at the concert

Dr. Seth Custer (faculty at the camp) arranged the following piece
specifically for this year's Sforzando String Camp.

The advanced orchestra is up on stage, and the other players
are wrapped around the auditorium.

It is a really neat arrangement - check it out below!

Sforzando String Camp 2013!

"The Lord will save me, and we will play my music on stringed instruments
all the days of our lives at the house of the Lord."
Isaiah 38:20

P.S. Thanks to Olivia P. for some great pictures!!!

  1. Thank you so much for posting pictures of camp! It almost made me cry to see them and remember that I missed camp this year. :/ From what my family has told me, y'all had a great time though. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime....maybe soon? ;)
