The story of Baby with the Suntan

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Little Lorie Jane.

Now Little Lorie Jane had a doll that she loved dearly.
She played with it, and slept with it, and she even chewed on its fingers.

One day, Little Lorie Jane's mother said, "We need to give that baby a bath!"
So they tossed the dolly into the washer and then the dryer.

When the dryer was done, to Little Lorie Jane's horror, the dolly had changed dramatically! Little Lorie Jane began to cry. Little Lorie Jane's mother said, "Don't cry. That baby just got a suntan!"

And from then on, the dolly was affectionately known as "Baby with the Suntan".

The End.

Memorial Day activities

On Memorial Day we did some work around the garden in the morning...

Rebecca hard at work!

Mary planting seeds

... and later in the day, got together with some friends to play softball!

The lineup - tallest to shortest

The "fans"

High-fives all around
Afterwards, we had a wonderful time of fun and fellowship, but didn't get any pics
except for the 40-person fruit salad we brought :)

Hope your summer is starting off on the right track as well!

Memorial Day

Today, we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Decoration Day

Sleep, comrades, sleep and rest
On this Field of the Grounded Arms,
Where foes no more molest,
Nor sentry's shot alarms!

Ye have slept on the ground before,
And started to your feet
At the cannon's sudden roar,
Or the drum's redoubling beat.

But in this camp of Death
No sound your slumber breaks;
Here is no fevered breath,
No wound that bleeds and aches.

All is repose and peace;
Untrampled lies the sod;
The shouts of battle cease,
It is the truce of God!

Rest, comrades, rest and sleep!
The thoughts of men shall be
As sentinels to keep
Your rest from danger free.

Your silent tents of green
We deck with fragrant flowers;
Yours has the suffering been,
The memory shall be ours.

Tigers Game!

Last weekend, some of us went with Grandpa M to a Tigers game!
Before the game started, there was an event called Home Plate Detroit, where
players share their faith - this year there were over 9,000 people in attendance!

A beautiful day for a ball game!

Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter sharing some thoughts

Several players' wives gave a brief testimony

Former Tigers pitcher Frank Tanana gave a great gospel message!

Some of us kids have gone with Grandpa M to the Home Plate event and a game
for the last 4 years! It's a great tradition!

We got to go on the field before the game - it was amazing!

Our group

The gals - notice the shirt Anna is wearing - it is the same shirt Dad was wearing
when he met Mom almost 30 years ago! What a great shirt!

All smiles!
