Blast from the Past

Aren't these girls adorable?

This is Anna P. and Mary in a picture taken in 2006...

Christmas Tree 2014

On Friday we went to Mutch's Hidden Pines Tree Farm to pick out our Christmas tree,
a tradition that we've had for many years.

On the hay ride...

We're ready!

Anyone want a pair of sunglasses?

Since the tree field was so big, people easily got lost, especially when we split up
to locate tree choices. So we used this pole for other family members to find us :)

We found our tree!

Starting to cut our tree down!

"TIMBER!"

Over the river and through the woods...

Putting on the trailer was very convenient!

The lights are on and now it's time to decorate!

Here is our Christmas tree decorated

Thanksgiving Day Events 2014

On Thanksgiving Day, we spent the afternoon at Mom's parents' house with family.

A decoration of butter - not to be used! It's too cute!

Now this is what you call a meat cutter!

Gideon and his dad playing a game of chess

Some of the delicious food we enjoyed

There were lovely decorations!

Some may have eaten a lot of food...

...literally!
Amazingly, he finished it!

Rebecca and Grandma :)

No comment!?!?!

Silent music was played...

Many games of "Spot It" were played; it got pretty intense!

Just being together as a family and enjoying the fellowship
is a huge blessing and something we should not take for granted!

God has been so good! We thank Him for His many blessings.

Thanksgiving Day

We would like to wish you Happy Thanksgiving!
The post below reflects our thoughts exactly on this special day.

Happy Thanksgiving to our lovely readers! The Duggars came up with 19 things they are thankful for:

1. We are thankful for the Bible that reveals why God made each one of us and His loving plan and purpose for our lives.

2. We are also thankful that the Bible teaches us what God wants us to do and not do.

3. We are thankful for Jesus, God’s son who came to the earth 2,000 years ago, who lived a perfect life and taught us the true meaning of life.

4. We are thankful for the Ten Commandments that make us realize that we all have lied, stolen something, or sinned in some way and need God’s mercy.

5. We are also thankful for Jesus who laid down His own life, suffered being tortured and executed to pay the penalty for the things we have done wrong.

Go here for the other 14!

Our first real snow of this year...

...came last week! Anna was able to go out and capture some
photos after we had received 6-7 inches of snow.

We had fun on the snowmobiles :)

Rebecca enjoying the outdoors

The chickens didn't like the cold weather...

We still have a ton of wood to split and stack as you may see

Goodbye, fall!

And now it's all melted, so we'll have to wait until the next snow storm to have some more fun!

Recital Time

This past week we had two recitals; one harp and one for Grace and Melody's students!

Anna played two beautiful pieces on the harp

One of Grace's piano students that came all the way from Frankenmuth!

Julia recently moved to a 1/2 size violin and she's loving it :)

Melody's cello student, Axl

Julia shared with us "Happy Farmer"

A very cute cello student of Melody's

Mary played "Command Performance"

This girl is 4 years old and she did amazing on her piano piece!

Rebecca did an excellent job playing "Musette"

Samuel did so well! Great concentration!

Rebecca also played for us "Minuet 1" on the violin

Mary on the cello; she played "Allegro Moderato" and did a fantastic job

Andrew did a wonderful job on his violin piece

I (Lydia) played "Brahms' Ballade Op. 118, No. 3" (very well, Mom here!)

Elizabeth played "Kabalevsky's Easy Variations" (which are not so easy!)

It was great to see this little cutie again :)
